NiteFall Series
For the longest time I had been on the look-out for some creative way to work with all the landscape images I have taken down through the years, and it was only by accident (doesn't it always work that way?) that I hit upon this method. I was playing around with a tool In Elements called Displacement Map, which forces one image to form to the contours of a second one, then they are blended together. I just happened to try a texture with a landscape - and off I went. The images I used initially were all forest scenes, but when that veered off I had to come up with a more inclusive title for the series. One of my other Photography categories is called NiteLites, so I came up with NiteFall for the deep shadowy contrasty direction I chose; it just sort of fit. The latest variation in this mode is to try and make them look like paintings, brushstrokes and all.
