Lunken Airport Shows
The Commemorative Air Force AirPower History Tour, which included World War II aircraft such as the P-51 Mustang, Boeing B-29 Superfortress, the only one left in the world out of an original 4000, and the C-45 Expeditor, was part of the Dayton Air Show the previous weekend. They touched down at Cincinnati Municipal Lunken Airport for a five-day visit. The B-29, which was first flown in 1942 and was used by the US Air Force until the late 1950s, is best known as the aircraft from which the first atomic bomb was dropped on Japan. Not to be satisfied with the image straight from my camera, I had to run them through Photoshop for some doctoring up. The next airport event celebrated the 1940s, with cars, planes, and costumes.
